Does an amateur forex trader have a head start?
A friend asked me, do amateur foreign exchange traders have a bright future?
If amateur means doing a job and then doing trading in my spare time, based on my personal experience, the hope is slim. Foreign exchange trading requires time accumulation and repeated training. These are of course important, but not the most important. It is like learning to swim. If you always wear a life buoy, you can't practice for 1000 years, and you can't reach the professional level of Ning Zetao Sun Yang.
In the beginning, I also traded while working. After a few years, I felt that my skills were almost the same, so I quit my job and traded full-time. As a result, I was fanned back and forth by the market in the first year, and I realized that having a swimming ring and not having a swimming ring are completely different things. After a few years of full-time work, looking back today, the concept and system that I had honed in those years of amateur trading and thought could be dealt with by the market have now been completely overturned by myself.
It's not that those years were completely useless. I spent almost as much time trading as full-time, and I have accumulated technical skills. However, several major breakthroughs and qualitative changes in their trading level all took place during their full-time stay.
Personal experience: the true face of the market, the mystery of trading, until someone is forced into a corner and has no way to retreat, it is difficult to truly understand until they drill their heads and think hard.So back to this question, if amateur trading can be like Huang Guangyu playing futures, it is good to treat trading as a diversion and a pastime, doing a few tricks in his spare time, and it is okay to win and lose. However, if the goal is to achieve financial freedom and steady growth of funds, it is still necessary to stay full-time.
