Support and Resistance Levels (Pressure Levels) in Forex Technical Analysis

In foreign exchange trading, a support level is an area or price level where the price has fallen to a certain level and it is difficult to continue falling after encountering support. A support level is usually a price level or area where there is a lot of buying, making it difficult to break through the selling, thus forming a support to support the falling price.

The formation of a support level is usually associated with market psychology and technical analysis. When the price falls to a relatively low level, buyers begin to enter the market in the hope of buying or adding positions. This leads to increased buying pressure, and sellers need more sell orders to push the price further down. However, due to strong buying by buyers, it is difficult for the price to break through this support level, which can lead to a price rebound or recovery.

In Forex technical analysis, support levels are usually determined by looking at past price movements and important price levels. These price levels may be previous lows, important resistance levels, or key technical indicators. As prices approach these levels, traders closely monitor the market reaction and if prices encounter support near these levels, support levels may form.

Support levels are of great significance in Forex trading. When prices approach or reach support levels, traders may resort to corresponding trading strategies such as adding positions, setting stop loss levels, or looking for signals of a price reversal. Therefore, understanding and identifying support levels is essential for making effective trading decisions and risk management.

Support and Resistance Levels (Pressure Levels) in Forex Technical Analysis (Figure 1)

In foreign exchange trading, a resistance level is an area or price level where the price rises to a certain level and it is difficult to continue rising when it encounters obstacles. A resistance level is usually a price level or area where there is a lot of selling that makes it difficult for buying to break through, thus forming a resistance that prevents the price from rising.

The formation of a resistance level is usually associated with market psychology and technical analysis. When the price rises to a relatively high level, sellers begin to enter the market in the hope of making a profit or position squaring. This results in increased selling pressure and buyers needing more buy orders to push the price further up. However, due to strong selling by sellers, it is difficult for prices to break through this resistance level, which can cause prices to rebound or fall back.

In Forex technical analysis, resistance levels are usually identified by looking at past price movements and important price levels. These price levels may be previous highs, important support levels, or key technical indicators. As prices approach these levels, traders keep a close eye on the market reaction, and resistance levels can form if prices encounter obstacles near these levels.

Resistance levels play an important role in Forex trading. When the price approaches or reaches a resistance level, traders may adopt corresponding trading strategies such as reducing their position, setting a take profit level or looking for signals of a price reversal. Therefore, understanding and identifying resistance levels is essential for making effective trading decisions and risk management.
